Six people have been injured in a crash involving four vehicles and one logging truck on the Richmond Deviation on State Highway 6 south of Nelson.

Three people have sustained moderate injuries while three people have suffered minor injuries, St John said.

The road was closed around 1.30pm shortly after emergency services were alerted, but was later reopened around 2.30pm.
