We normally get seven to eight thousand over the two days. [We've had] maybe 300 less. "We've been happy with the weekend, considering how much activity has been in the Wairarapa this weekend," Mr O'Neill said. The Joe Lumsden Rough Riders Stunt Show was popular, attracting a large crowd.AdvertisementAdvertise with NZME.AdvertisementAdvertise with NZME.The final section of the gate-to-plate, with the judging of lamb dishes cooked by local chefs, also had high spectator numbers.There was cattle and sheep judging and equestrian events.The Champion of Champions for show jumping was Alana Clapperton.AdvertisementAdvertise with NZME.Mr O'Neill said while he was pleased with how the weekend had gone, he would like to see improved organisation of events in the future.
