Serious crash closes SH1 near Taihape

State Highway 1 near Taihape is closed following a serious crash.

Police said the road is closed to the north of Spooners Hill and that initial indications from the single-vehicle crash are there have been injuries.

Diversions are in place, but motorists are being asked to avoid the area if they can.
