Second historic Northland building engulfed by fire

A second historic Northland building burned down during the long weekend.

The first suspicious fire was at Kawakawa's St Paul's Anglican Church early on Waitangi Day. The next day a historic two-storey kauri and rimu Rawene building was also destroyed by fire.

Police said there were no obvious signs of the fires being linked to Waitangi protest action.

Built in 1916, the building was known as the Villa and also the Fullers' house, as it was built by the Fuller family.
