A 15-year-old West Auckland school girl was taken to hospital by ambulance today after falling onto a bolt.
The year 10 student at Kelston Girls' College was having a group photo taken as part of a sports team when she lost balance and fell from a stand being used for
the photo session.
Principal Linda Fox said the girl was not impaled on the bolt, which injured her left leg, but she was asked to stay still until she could be removed by firefighters.
"They used their equipment to lift her off the bolt."
She was treated at the school by ambulance officers and taken to hospital by ambulance.
