A sceptic is offering $100,000 each to the producer of television psychic show Sensing Murder and three psychics if they can perform his tests.
Long-time sceptic Stuart Landsborough has put the money up but has so far not been taken up on the offer by the Sensing Murderteam.
"The producers emailed me back saying that we don't really deal with closed minded sceptics. I am a sceptic and it is only the sceptics that offer money like this," Mr Landsborough said.
He said he has questions over the way the show is edited.
But Sensing Murder producer Geoff Husson said information was not passed on to the psychics and often in the editing process they were spoilt for choice when it came to content.
Mr Husson said he did not know if the psychics were talking to dead people but "what I do know is that something extraordinary is going on".
Mr Landsborough also has concerns for the families involved with the programme.
"The families involved are in terrible stress and it's creating a lot of anxiety and stress to a lot of people," Mr Landsborough said.
He said despite the show's popularity, it was not successful in solving crime.
"All the Sensing Murder programmes around the world have never solved one single crime. If you have a police force that cannot solve any crimes, they would be sacked," Mr Landsborough said.
Mr Husson said the show did not aim at solving crimes but instead tried to provide police with a "new line of enquiry'. He said families were not forced into anything and every day the show received pleas from more people to be involved.
Mr Landsborough has had another psychic challenge going since 1994 that is now offering $100,000 to psychics to find a promissory note.
So far there have been four attempts and all have failed.
