Rotorua woman hospitalised after stabbing

A woman is in Rotorua Hospital after being stabbed.

The incident occurred last night at a private address at Fordlands in the city.

A police patrol car was in the area at the time of the incident and was able to attend immediately.

Area Commander Inspector Bruce Horne says one of the officers was able to give first aid to the victim, while the second officer chased the alleged female offender and apprehended her.

The woman's injuries are not life threatening.
