With a delicious line up of over 25 foodie events this August, there has never been a better time to try something new. Check our picks for these unmissable events this Restaurant Month.

It doesn't take a magician to make something out of nothing. It takes thought, imagination and some know-how. Join the clever food hackers from The Cult Project (Will & Carlo, both formerly of Matterhorn amongst other impressive restaurants) in their journey to create a sumptuous dinner made out of what was otherwise going to waste. Yes, tonight we've got 'nothing for dinner'.

Alongside them, the 'food rescuers' at Kiwi Harvest and whole food masters Misters Real Food are collaborating to deliver something special. Expect a thought provoking night packed with creative food and drink, and perhaps making something out of nothing. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves too....

RAISE THE BAR
Step into the restaurants you've always dreamed of visiting with Raise the Bar, showcasing the city's finest restaurant bars - think Clooney, MASU, Soul Bar, Harbourside and more. Each Thursday of the month, enjoy a small and perfectly executed dish created by one of Auckland's top chefs with wine match for just $25.

Options include a fried oyster sandwich, coleslaw, spicy mayo and a side of fries matched with a glass of Nautilus Chardonnay at Soul Bar & Bistro or Popcorn Shrimps with wasabi mayonnaise served with a glass of Nautilus Cuvee from Harbourside.

A TASTE OF FEDERAL STREET AT MASU
For the third Restaurant Month running, chefs from the big 4 restaurants of Federal Street unite to cook in the award winning MASU dining room.

The night will be kicked off with Sean Connolly's Salt and Pepper King Crab, followed by Nic Watt with a second course of Crispy Pork Belly, Mustard Miso and Roasted Nori and Al Brown with a third course of Wild Hare Fillet with Quince. Neil Brazier of The Sugar Club will then finish off the evening with Peanut Butter Parfait with Miso Caramel and Sesame.

Each year these chefs strive to lift the bar, so it will definitely be an event not to be missed.

STREET EATS
Street Eats is back for its 4th year this Restaurant Month with over 80 dishes from your favourite central city restaurants. Think Mexico, Orleans, The Culpepper, Crab Shack and Besos Latinos to name a few. And with over 30 restaurants and food trucks you will be spoilt for choice.

The sights, the sounds, the smells and of course the tastes are what makes this an unmissable day on every foodie's calendar. It will be a family-friendly affair with games for the kids, a bar or two for the adults and live music for everyone throughout the day.

Fancy a pork belly corn dog with house smoked BBQ sauce and pork crackling dip, Mexican fried chicken wings with magic powder and chipotle mayonnaise or a Spanish paella? Make sure you head down to Street Eats, you won't be disappointed.
