Recruitment campaign to fill dairy industry jobs

New Zealand's largest dairy company is launching a nationwide recruitment campaign to fill more than 200 positions created by expansions of its South Island operations.

New Zealand Dairy Group is investing $300 million in new plant at its manufacturing sites in Canterbury (Clandeboye) and Southland (Edendale).

This comes as the dairy industry rides a high with the huge growth in the South Island, record payout forecasts and the proposal to merge New Zealand Dairy Group and Kiwi Dairies to create Global Dairy Company.

New Zealand Dairy Group South Island regional manager Mike Pohio said the site expansions in Canterbury and Southland were creating significant new employment opportunities.

Fifty staff are wanted by the end of May, with another 150 by the end of the year.
