Rant Maybe it's time to remind drivers you're not supposed to proceed through an intersection unless the way is clear. It's a daily occurrence at the Albert St/Victoria St intersection wherepeople driving up Victoria St jump the lights or continue to go even though the road ahead is blocked. To make it worse, those turning right on to Victoria from Albert decide they're not going to miss out so block it even further. Nick Seed
Rave Huge thanks to the lovely couple at the Japanese restaurant in Lynfield last Saturday who, on seeing a stressed mum unable to pay for the food she had ordered, insisted on paying. We'd been at netball, my daughter playing and myself umpiring. I'd forgotten to put my purse in my bag and was mortified to have to rely on the kindness of others. It's overwhelming to know such kind, generous people exist. Julie
Rant My rant is against people who complain about having their car clamped in a mobility park after pulling into the first spot in an otherwise empty car park. Because you're in a mobility car park you will be clamped. Next time park in the right place. End of story. Pam
Rave A HUGE thank you to the good Samaritans who stopped to help us when our car broke down in Maramarua on Saturday. To the young man with the tow rope and the man in his ute following to slow traffic behind us. To the AA and Reuben who took us and our car back to Panmure. It has restored my faith in human generosity of spirit. Jane
Rant Cyclists, the joys of them on our roads. They moan we don't give them enough room on the road. Then they cry out loud if someone gets hit by a vehicle, but they run red lights on Ponsonby Rd with no care or consideration for their own safety, they fail to check there are no vehicles coming from side streets or pedestrians on the crossing. Cyclists need to read the Road Code before they whine about drivers. Alan
Rave Thank you so much to the four passers-by in Orewa who stopped in their cars to assist me when I felt faint. Two kind young men and then Judith and her husband, who insisted on taking me home. Such kind Kiwis. Thank you. Pam
