Rant Two weeks ago, I was driving home along Bellevue Rd in Mt Eden. The school is out and I saw a few boys in navy uniform throwing stones at passingcars. They did the same to my car too. As I am new to the area, I did not know what school they were from. Could you imagine if they hit the windows with the stones? Jane Lee
Rave Huge thanks to Lisa and her team at Snow Planet for looking after me when my old knee decided to zig instead of zag. Also to the mysterious stranger on the snow who helped when I first hit the deck. Didn't catch your name but you were great. And North Shore Hospital A&E " you put up with some real nonsense on a Saturday night. Well done all. Paul Brislen
Rant To the lady in the white station wagon who crashed into another vehicle at the lights outside Sylvia Park last Thursday morning and indicated for the other driver to pull over and then drove around him and off down the road: I got your number plate and reported it to the police. To the other driver: I hope you reported this. Karen
Rave On Thursday night, I got a puncture on the north side of the harbour bridge. I found I couldn't remove the tightly secured spare wheel or even the jack. Along came a young man from South Africa and changed my wheel for me. He would not accept any donation. What a wonderful young man. I hope he reads this and knows how grateful I am for his kindness. Alan Jermaine
Rant I hate going to Auckland City because of the horrendous traffic. On Tuesday after an appointment at Auckland City Hospital it took 55 minutes to drive to New Lynn! What is staggering is that people do this every day. What quality of life is that? Thankfully, I managed to escape home to the idyllic Rodney east coast. Bryan
Rave Well done to the Public Transport Users Association for their recent public meeting in Kumeu to announce their excellent proposal for a diesel shuttle train service between Swanson and Kumeu. The common sense proposal put forward by the PTUA had the support of all people in attendance, including the representative from Auckland Transport. G. Sinclair
