Rave My 3-year-old daughter was unlucky enough to need the care of the Pukekohe ED team after falling and breaking her wrist. The treatment was second to none, from the receptionists,Clara, the doctor, Toni, the radiographer, and Diana, the nurse. She was seen, had a cast put on and all in three hours. What a fantastic team.

Rant On several occasions over the past few days, I have struggled to pick up the outline of pedestrians wearing dark clothes, and standing on the median strip on dark mornings/nights, (one student was looking at her mobile while waiting to cross the road). It is so infuriating as we would be seen to be at fault if the pedestrian was to get hit by our vehicle. Surely this is a recipe for disaster. Pedestrians, stop taking such unnecessary risks.
Rave After a fruitless and frustrating search for my credit card, I retraced my steps to Wynyard Wharf. A huge thank you to the lady who handed in my credit card last Sunday afternoon to The Conservatory Bar and thanks to the bar staff for holding this in a safe place. Your honesty and assistance is greatly appreciated.

Rant I also agree with Colin, it is a shame so many people forget manners. We are on a campervan holiday and travel along at 85km to 90km, always checking mirrors and pulling over to let traffic pass where it is safe. We have travelled from Hawkes Bay via Wellington to Kerikeri. The worst drivers are too busy on phones and pass us at the end of a passing lane when we have indicated we are pulling back. But we do have manners and will continue to do the right thing as, I'm sure, Colin will.
Rave Thank you to the people responsible for lighting up the harbour bridge each night. It gives a sense of vibrancy to that part of the harbour and I hope the council consider keeping it lit up once the Auckland Festival is over.

Rant The preseason rugby trials are starting and the once-tidy park in Massey is littered with empty water bottles and the tape that players take off their legs as they walk off the field. Come on guys, use the bins provided and keep the place tidy.
