Shame on the youths and individuals who have started tagging and etching into the windows on our city's lovely new electric trains. These trains have been a long time coming and have cost millions of dollars. Now they are being ruined and will soon look as bad as the old diesel trains.

I would like to thank the kind person who found my car keys that I dropped in the car park at New World Browns Bay a week or so ago. It was only when we came to replace the faulty windscreen wiper this weekend that we saw the keys in the wiper recess. Amazingly we had been travelling around all this time and they did not budge. A belated but sincere thanks.

Why are we still paying more than $2 a litre for petrol at the pumps when the oil price is still around 50 per cent of what it was a year ago. Oil prices dropped 50 per cent, pump prices dropped 10 per cent. There's a big difference.

Last week I bought a 50th birthday card from Paper Plus Birkenhead and left it in the Countdown shopping trolley. Imagine my delight when purchasing another card yesterday to find someone had taken the card back to Paper Plus. A huge thank you.

Abandoned shopping trolleys and rubbish left on kerbs for "someone" to collect outside inorganic collection times, driving through red lights and countless other driving offences. When did we become so self-righteous and ignorant of others?

To all the lovely people who helped me after I was hit by a car at the pedestrian crossing on the corner of Mt Eden Rd and Esplanade Rd last Thursday - I was given coats and towels and hugs. Although I came away with only minor injuries it was quite a shock and I appreciated all of your kindness!
