I'm over those people at social gatherings who reach for their phone immediately to show you photos of their kids, cat, dog, dinner, holidays, weddings etc etc. So boring!

Many thanks to the kind man who helped me lift my 95-year-old disabled father into the car on a wet Monday this week. There are some lovely people in Papakura.

My 92-year-old uncle in Whangarei has always had a superb vegetable garden, through his own hard work. On a recent visit I was incensed to learn that some local scumbags make periodic night raids to steal some of his plants and produce. As it is out of sight of the road, local knowledge is obvious. It seems no one can stop these low lives. Can you believe it!

In response to Lynda. Arriving home on Monday I realised I had left my chilly bag full of goods on a packing bench at Pak'n Save, Wairau Rd, North Shore. I drove straight back and there was my bag on the customer service desk. Thank you to the person who handed it in. Don't lose faith, Lynda, there are still lots of honest, decent people around.
