Keep left unless passing. Merge like a zip when using onramps. Keep up with the traffic flow. People who drive with hundreds of metres between them and the next car need to speed up, or use arterial routes if you cannot drive above 80km/h in peak-hour traffic. And onramp traffic lights are not signalling the start of a race.

A large bouquet to the staff of the Auckland Transport telephone service. Whenever I have had occasion to call for bus timetables they have been unfailingly helpful and courteous and provided exact and detailed information, often going the 'extra mile' to help when the locality has been unfamiliar. Thank you.

How much more rubbish must we in Mt Roskill put up with? We got called Puketapapa with no consultation and now some clowns have decided that the cross on Mt Roskill should not be there. The reasons given from Auckland Council via the local paper are absolute rubbish.

I rang Auckland City to ask if the rubbish thrown along the perimeter of the Eskdale Reserve could be removed. Talked to a very helpful lady who assured me it would be dealt with in the next few days. Five hours later, I drove down the street and was delighted to find all the rubbish had been removed. Great work, guys, and thanks.

We have recently moved to Orewa from Waitakere. All part of Auckland City, so we are told, so why do residents of Orewa have to now pay $3 to take their recycling to the rubbish collection point in Silverdale. The reason we take our cardboard boxes there is that the private contractors who pick up the weekly recycling kerbside can take only small bundled-up recycling, unlike the monster trucks in Waitakere that would devour the largest of boxes. Surely there needs to be consistency?

Well done, Auckland Transport, for looking to introduce modern light-rail trams in central Auckland. Trams are exactly what is needed to get people out of their cars and to make our city streets more pleasant with less noise and fumes. Extending the current waterfront tramway to Britomart and up Queen St would be a really good starting point. Queen St would be so much nicer.
