Brickbats to the man who parked his grey Cube illegally at the top of Western Park and sat on the park bench ignoring his small, brown, black-jacketed dog fossicking and pooing all over the grass. How liberating it must be to know that none of life's irritating little rules and courtesies apply to you.

We have just had five days on Melbourne transport, and obviously Aussie kids are brought up to respect their elders and females - not once did my wife or I have to stand on any public transport as a seat was always made available.

It would be nice if non-specialist shops had bigger sizes of footwear and socks. I am sure I am not the only person around who has size 14 feet. Okay, the stock may sit on the shelf for longer, but how nice it would be to go into a department store and find footwear and socks that fit.

Thank you so much to the staff who work in the outpatients haematology department of North Shore Hospital. My daughter has lymphoma and is receiving wonderful care there. We couldn't ask for better.

What's with the Auckland Transport bus system? I have to take bus No 267 each day from the Civic Centre to Lynfield, but when I reach the bus stop there are three No 258s, followed by three No 267s. Can they not alternate the service and have more people hopping on and reaching their destination?
