The Auckland Blues rugby supporter with the foghorn voice and the foul mouth at North Harbour QBE Stadium on Saturday. His continual shouting of disgusting obscenities ruined the enjoyment of many young people and families sitting nearby.

Thanks to whoever found my front door key which I dropped in the Muriwai Beach carpark last week and put it on that little post. It was still there when I went in for a surf first thing yesterday morning, nearly a week later.

How about putting a carpark pay machine inside the domestic terminal at the airport, rather than making users stand in the wind and rain, with no night lighting to speak of?

Lovely service from Howick Alterations when I popped in with a small fix-it job. Not only did they do it on the spot, they didn't charge me and did it so graciously and with such a lovely smile that it was a pleasure to go in there.

Why on earth is the Oakley Creek boardwalk - part of the Causeway Alliance project on SH16 - painted bright yellow? It is ghastly and does not blend in with the environment at all.

On Sunday, en route to Auckland to meet our son, we stopped in the New World car park in Orewa for shopping. On our return to the car it would not start, the battery was completely empty. Our call to the AA was answered in 15 minutes. We cannot praise enough the high standard of service we received from Rowan who replaced the battery, ensuring that our hold-up was, in total, much less than an hour.
