Rainbow crossing to celebrate Wellington diversity

Mayor Justin Lester said the rainbow crossing will open in the middle of next year.

Wellington is getting a rainbow crossing to celebrate diversity.

Mayor Justin Lester announced on Twitter this morning the crossing will be unveiled on Cuba St in the middle of the year.

It is just like a Zebra crossing, but instead of black and white, the stripes will be rainbow-coloured.

Lester said the council wants Cuba St to develop into Wellington's Pride Precinct.
