The family of the young girl tragically killed in a driveway on Boxing Day has described her as "the most beautiful, one of a kind angel there will ever be".
The serious crash unit is still investigating and police have confirmed the fatality is included in the holiday road tollbecause the 2-year-old girl was run over in the public driveway of the Te Kauwhata RSA on Mahi Rd.
Another relative thanked people for the "love, prayers and generosity" shown by family, friends and the wider community.
"There are no words to express how fortunate we are to have you all surround and comfort us at this time and we take each and every gift you give us to draw strength to carry through another day."
The girl's body was to be taken to a local marae this afternoon.
Members of the Te Kauwhata community have paid tribute to the girls on the local Facebook page expressing their condolences in the tight-knit community.
Te Kauwhata RSA president Ross Laing said at this stage he was unaware of an event happening at the RSA or the venue being hired out on Boxing Day.
It was more likely that neighbours had just parked on the property, he said.
