Three alleged jewel thieves have been arrested after members of the public recognised missing jewellery on police Facebook appeals.
Police have confirmed that a number of items of jewellery worth thousands of dollars were stolen from a residential property in Rotorua on September 10.
A 23-year-old Canadian resident and two Israeli residents, aged 24 and 27, are due to appear at Christchurch District Court this morning each charged with one count of burglary.
Police investigations are continuing.
Detective Sergeant Don Fisher said it is "very satisfying" to be able to return the items to their owners and it "shows what can be achieved when police and the community work together".
Police are still trying to locate other items of jewellery believed to have been in the Christchurch area on October 2, which includes a gold Michael Hill charm bracelet.
"If you have been offered or purchased any high-quality jewellery in Christchurch since October 2 please call Christchurch Police Station on 03 363 7400," a police statement said this morning.
Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
