Our client operates a well-established poultry farming business in Hawke's Bay and seeks to appoint a Poultry Production Manager to their team. With a large product offering to their customers including eggs, pullets, poultry feed, day old chickens and consumables the owners pride themselves on producing high quality poultry products to the market.
Functioning as a 35,000 bird unit, the business comprises both rearing and laying facilities.
The role of Poultry Production Manager will be to oversee and manage the day-to-day operational and production aspects of the business with support from the owners.
Ensuring that MAF compliance and biosecurity requirements are met and overseeing all staff to ensure the business is adhering to best poultry practice in optimising egg production are key responsibilities of this role.
The successful appointee will require an excellent attention to detail, people management skills, good verbal communication and sound planning and organisation skills. As manual work and heavy lifting will be required, you must be physically fit and ideally have had previous experience operating tractors and forklifts.
