One critical, two seriously injured after two-vehicle crash on SH57 in Levin; road closed

One person has been critically injured and two are in a serious condition after a two-vehicle crash in Levin, Manawatū.

Police said the crash on State Highway 57 was reported about 7.20pm.

The highway is closed at the intersection of Kimberley and Arapaepae South Rds.

“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and to expect delays,” police said.

Hato Hone St John said four ambulances, a rapid response unit, an operations manager and a helicopter were dispatched to the scene about 7.20pm.

“Two patients in a serious condition were transported to Palmerston North Hospital and one patient in a critical condition was airlifted to Wellington Hospital.”
