Police are continuing to treat the disappearance of Arnold Reedy as a missing person case.
The Mangere father-of three set off from home late last month and made a distressed phone call to his wife on the Friday before last.
His car was found crashed off the Miranda to Kaiaua road on
Auckland's east coast two days later.
Police say there have been no confirmed sightings of Mr Reedy.
Detective Sergeant Wayne Lendrum says the search will continue today and if necessary next week.
He says police have followed up information from the public but it has all been discounted.
Police want to hear from anybody who was in the vicinity at around 5am last Sunday morning.
Mr Lendrum says that includes anyone travelling on the road about that time, or who may have picked up a hitch-hiker there.
