Police are seeking information about a man who offered two young Auckland girls a ride home in his van that had the 'F-word' spray-painted across its back, windowless doors.

North Shore Police are seeking information about the Sunday, June 7 incident in Glenfield.

"At around 3.30pm, two girls aged around 10- and 12-years-old were walking along Chivalry Rd near Glenfield Intermediate," said a statement from police.

"A man in a white van pulled over and asked if they wanted a ride home.

"The girls declined and ran away and the male drove off."

The white van has some distinct features including: rust in some areas; red wheels with black tyres; no windows on the back and barn-style doors, similar to a Ford Transit and the "F word" written in full across its back doors in black spray paint.

The statement said the driver was described as a male Caucasian with tanned skin, aged in his 30s with unshaven stubble and a "slightly roundish face".

He had short, straight medium-length brown hair and a tattoo on the upper left arm, possibly of a gun.

His left air was pierced with sleeper earrings on the top and bottom and he was wearing shorts, t-shirts and jandals.
