Police investigate unexplained death of woman at Wellington apartment

An investigation is underway after a woman was found dead in a Wellington apartment.

Police were called to the property on Abel Smith St in Te Aro at 6pm yesterday, where the woman was located dead on arrival.

Officers visited the property after neighbours reported concerns for her wellbeing.

Police said the death is currently being treated as unexplained.

A scene guard remained in place overnight while inquiries were carried out.
