Pikachu goes bungy jumping in Queenstown

Pokemon fans heading past Kawarau bridge in Queenstown were in for a special treat this afternoon as the popular character, Pikachu, went for a bungy jump.

Unlike the characters spotted on the popularised app Pokemon Go - this one was very much visible to the naked eye.

AJ Hackett Bungy NZ had someone dressed in a Pikachu outfit take the leap above the crystal blue waters of the popular tourist destination.

The giant yellow Pokemon mascot took his fearless leap of faith solo, arms spread wide, before being pulled into the boat by the bungy staff.
