Person seriously injured after being hit by truck in Christchurch

One person has been seriously injured after being hit by a truck in Christchurch this morning.

A police spokeswoman said a person was unloading goods from a truck when they were hit by another truck.

Police were called to the scene near the intersection of Clyde Rd and Ilam Rd in Bryndwr at 5.40am.

They have been taken to hospital with serious leg injuries.

Police and ambulance were at the scene.

The Commercial Vehicle Investigation Unit have been called.
