Person killed in crash in Lower Moutere, Tasman

One person is dead after crashing their vehicle in the Tasman district in the South Island last night.

The single-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of Waiwhero Rd and Edwards Rd, with police called around 8.25pm.

“The sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene,“ police said in a statement.

“The road was closed for a period of time following the crash but has since re-opened.”
