Person dies in early morning house fire in Christchurch

Fire and Emergency was called just after 2am.

One person has died following a house fire in Christchurch this morning.

Fire and emergency and police were called to the scene at 2.10am in Gosport St, Aranui.

People were in the house at the time.

Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Cordons and a scene guard are currently in place.

Police and fire services are investigating further.
