"Hopefully a local family, one who needs a helping hand, will claim the prize," she told The Bay of Plenty Times from the store yesterday.
She said the store had been abuzz with punters checking their tickets yesterday and it was exciting waiting for the winning ticket to come through the store.
Papamoa Pak'nSave checkout second in command Sharron Taylor said she believed the supermarket was a lucky Lotto shop.
A number of other prizes had been won at the store including a third division Lotto win and a first division Strike win over the six years it had been open.
Anyone who bought their ticket from Papamoa Pak'n Save should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet, online at MyLotto.co.nz or through the Lotto NZ ticket-checker app.
