A worker is nursing injuries after he was attacked during an early morning ram raid at a east Auckland petrol station.
Police say a stolen car smashed its way through large glass panes at the front of the Gull station on Reeves Rd, Pakuranga around 4.45am.
Detective Senior Sergeant Karen Bright said after crashing through the building those inside the car assaulted a staff member inside the store at the time.
The worker suffered minor injuries in the violent robbery.

The ram raiders then left in a second getaway vehicle.
Police who were nearby responded immediately to the robbery and made efforts to track the vehicle but failed to find it.
The service station forecourt was now cordoned off as police examined the shop and the vehicle used to crash through the glass front for clues.
Bright said police were also working with the victim and support was being provided.
