Video of a violent brawl in a South Auckland supermarket has shocked people around the country, but overseas it’s relatively common and has even led to deaths.
The sister of two men involved in a brawl in Pak'nSave on Tuesday has rushed to their defence calling them "good humble blokes".
In a post to Facebook, the woman claimed her two brothers were targeted by a group of men they didn't know and were simply defending themselves.
Shewrote that the brawl started after the group began to look for trouble.
"Anyone who know my brothers well - know that they are not troublemakers and are first hand very good humble blokes," she said.
"My brothers were defending themselves from a group of males they do not know. This group were looking for trouble and that group targeted my brothers. My brothers were not the instigators, their hands were forced and they only did what any other human will do is defend themselves."

Footage emerged after bystanders posted video to social media, which showed a group of men brawling in the aisle as women, children and other customers went about their shopping.
During the fight a number of kicks and punches were thrown and landed, while a security guard was caught in the firing line while trying to break up the fight.
Two women were seen using shopping trolleys to separate the men and also attempted to restrain the men.
The sister of the two brothers also took aim at bystanders who filmed the incident.
"It is unfortunate that this incident occurred and they were part of it. However the incident has rolled into a greater spectacle because bystanders chose to pull out their devices and record it - instead of trying to stop it.
"That is the catalyst. I mean first of all none of you will win an Oscar for phenomenal cinematography if thats the angle you are pulling from.
"YOU have created the catalyst. You invited the ill-informed opinions from various individuals and groups to label YOU, me, Polynesians as 'uneducated' 'animals'.
"YOU put us ALL to the wolves for slaughter. Trolling at it's best team, good ol' human race.
"Now fellow social media users who have a lot to say - yes YOU I am appalled and ashamed of the level of arrogance, ignorance and assuming opinions from you and to be quite frank humans as a whole."

The woman then encouraged people to spread love and share positivity to the community.
"Just give this a rest aye. Don't share the footage. Don't add to the hype.
"Instead Share love. Call your family and friends and check up on them, if you haven't spoken to them in awhile and say you love them."
Foodstuffs head of external relations Antoinette Laird told the Herald the behaviour from customers was unacceptable.
