Pair tied up in chippy heist

Two women were tied up by robbers at a fish-and-chip shop in the Wellington suburb of Island Bay yesterday.

Police said two men entered the shop and two female staff members were bound with masking tape. One of them is thought to have been hit, possibly with a spanner.

Both women received minor cuts and bruises.

The robbers got away with undisclosed amount of money.
