A Havelock North woman who has failed in her seven-month battle to prevent her two dogs being destroyed says that's not the end of the fight.
Angela Milner's 8-year-old english setter and labrador-cross dogs were seized last year after stock was attacked on a property east of Havelock North.
The dispute over
putting the dogs down went to Hastings District Court on January 13 and was won by the council. Ms Milner appealed and it went to the High Court and Wellington.
After a hearing last Tuesday, the judge reserved his decision, but by Friday both parties were told that the council had won permission to destroy the dogs. The council did so that afternoon.
Ms Milner said she was given no time to get an injunction and appeal against the decision.
She said there were still issues she intended following up, including the "inadequate" treatment of the dogs while they were in the pound. She planned to contact her lawyer to discuss her options.
