Orchard Manager/Operations Manager
Trevelyan's Pack & Cool Ltd is a Te Puke-based kiwifruit post harvest company packing 16 million trays covering the wider Bay of Plenty region and Hawkes Bay.
We currently operate a very successful orchard management division based in Te Puke which manages approximately 300 canopy ha for 60 growers and we are looking to establish a new orchard management division for the Tauranga/Katikati area.
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic person to join us who will initially be responsible for the hands-on Orchard Management of the current 20 canopy
ha portfolio.
As the new division grows over time,
this role will evolve to include responsibility for a team of people
who will report to you.
This is a key position that would suit
an experienced candidate who wishes
to establish themselves as an Operations Manager.
This position is well supported by Trevelyan's Pack & Cool Ltd's Grower Technical staff and Grower Liaison staff and comes with a competitive remuneration package.
We are seeking a person with the following skills and experience:
• Management of permanent/casual
staff and contractors
• Excellent record keeping and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and
people skills
• Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
• Proven orchard management experience
• Ability to set and work to budgets
• Experience in business management, planning and implementing growth strategies would also be an advantage
