"I love them all, but I really love Harry. They're all really funny, but he's got a really good sense of humour and he's really hot and I like his accent. They're all so cool as well, like they're all just really cool guys and their music's really good. All their voices are amazing."
Alexa cut out a picture of Louis' head from a magazine and put it on a stick so she could wave it around.
Others made signs quoting song lyrics and "Welcome to 1DLand". Alexa thought there was about 200 people at the airport.
"Whenever someone sees a policeman or a car with dark windows people sprint over. There's lots of running and screaming and singing their songs," Alexa said.
"Everybody here's wanting to see them. But I think everybody here wants to hug them or touch them or something - it's not going to happen but it's what everybody wants."
After giving up on her chances of catching the boys at the airport, Alexa "stalked them out" at the Langham Hotel where she believed they were staying.
"I'm going to stalk them all weekend, just follow them around," she said.
The self-confessed "massive fan", who has two walls of her bedroom covered in One Direction posters, is going to tomorrow night's show and has been considering taking potatoes and carrots to throw at the band.
"Niall is Irish and potatoes are Irish and Louis likes carrots because he said it in one of his video diaries because they were asked what they like in girls and Louis said, 'I like girls who eat carrots' and ever since then he's had carrots thrown at him."
As well as the screams at the airport, the boy band were also welcomed with a "human banner of directioners" at Western Springs Stadium.
The stunt was recorded by The Edge radio station and will be gifted to the band.
Today the band is expected to spend most of the day doing media interviews in the lead-up to its first New Zealand shows tomorrow at Auckland's Trusts Stadium.
They then head to Wellington for their final New Zealand show on Sunday before flying home to England on Wednesday.
Tickets to the three shows - more than 10,000 tickets in total - sold out within 10 minutes of going on sale in March.
The group of five shot to fame after coming third in the UK's X Factor seventh series in 2010. They entered the televised competition individually but were put into a group after a suggestion from judge Nicole Scherzinger.
And today at 9am the doors will open to New Zealand's only official One Direction store.
Merchandise will include T-shirts, hoodies, posters, photo frames, and dolls and will be open until Monday.
