One Direction heart-throb Harry Styles will search for a former Kiwi girlfriend when the hit band arrives for a trio of sold-out gigs this week.
The 18-year-old star confided to band mates Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne that he intends to visit the New Zealand familyof his mystery ex.
"He still carries a flame for her. It's a secret trip and the lads in the band have agreed to go too," a source told British showbiz magazine Now.
The news will come as a shock to Styles' recent girlfriend, UK television presenter Caroline Flack, 32. She has been in contact with the singer since their three-month romance ended in January and was thought to be trying to rekindle their relationship.
"Caroline and Harry have been texting a lot while the boys have been away on tour," the source added.
"They are just friendly messages, along the lines of her asking how the show went and what he has been up to."
One Direction became the first UK group to top the US charts with their debut album Up All Night last month. They are so popular, a 100-strong security team was hired to protect them from fans at concerts in America.
The band's New Zealand shows - two at Auckland's Trusts Stadium Arena on Saturday and one at Wellington's St James Theatre the next night - sold out in 10 minutes.
