Victoria Police are investigating Katy Perry over historical sexual assault allegations made by Australian actor and model Ruby Rose.
The 40-year-old Orange Is the New Black star claims Perry sexually assaulted her at Melbourne’s Spice Market nightclub in 2010 — an allegation Perry has flatly denied, describing it as “recklesslies”.
Police confirmed to 7NEWS detectives from the Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team are now looking into the matter.
“Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s CBD,” police said.
“As the investigation remains ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.”

Perry has denied that the incident took place.
“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies,” her spokesperson told People.
“Ms Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
Rose posted again on Tuesday night, saying she would no longer comment on the incident.
“As of this afternoon, I have finalized [sic] all of my reports. This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved,” Rose said on Threads.
