One person has been cut free from a car at Manutahi, near Taranaki after becoming trapped in a crash this afternoon.

The crash happened around 3.20pm on South Rd near Manutahi and involved two cars.

A police spokeswoman confirmed officers attended the crash.

One person was trapped for a time until they were cut free by fire crews.
