One person is trapped following a crash involving a concrete truck in Kingswell, Southland.
A fire and emergency services spokesman said it was alerted to the crash, on Gorge Rd-Invercargill Highway, at 12.15pm today and responded with two appliances.
"Once we arrived on scene we determined it was a concrete truck with the driver still trapped inside the vehicle," he said.
A St John spokesman said a 45-year-old male had sustained serious injuries and they remained on scene while fire crews are working to extricate him.

Advertise with NZME.A police spokeswoman confirmed a truck had rolled on Gorge Rd in Invercargill, between Faulkner Rd and Tokanui Gorge Rd.
"We understand that the driver is still stuck in the truck cab at the moment," she said.
Traffic has been cut down to one lane.
