One person seriously injured after car crashes into shop in Auckland

One person is in serious condition after a car hit a shop in Greenlane, Auckland.

A fire service spokeswoman said it is believed that the car also hit a gas main on Great South Rd, near Matai Rd.

Two fire appliances are currently in attendance and a third is on the way.

Police have been called to temporarily close the southbound lane of Great South Rd and assist with traffic.

A police spokeswoman said police are diverting traffic at Atarangi Rd.
