One person has died after a quad bike crash near Puketotara

One person has been killed in a quad bike crash in the Waikato this afternoon.

Emergency services are at the scene. The fatal crash in Mangati Rd, near Otorohanga, occurred around 2.15pm.

The rider of the quad bike died at the scene.

"There are no details we can provide as yet regarding the deceased person, or how the crash occurred," a police spokesperson said.

The serious crash unit has been notified.
