One person has been critically injured in a crash on Auckland's motorway and motorists are being warned to expect delays on route to the airport.
Police said a car crashed into the barrier on the Southwestern Motorway at Mangere about 9am.
A person had been critically injured.
One lane of the motorway heading west was blocked due to the crash and motorists were being asked to avoid the are if possible.
Earlier, delays were reported on the Southern Motorway after a crash in the southbound lanes this morning.
One person has moderate injuries and another has minor injuries after the crash between Hill and Alfriston roads near Takanini.
Emergency services were alerted at 7.14am after a vehicle crashed into a barrier and rolled, a police spokeswoman said.
The motorway was down to one lane for a time, she said. Police asked that motorists were patient if they experienced delays.
A motorist driving in the opposite direction told the Herald she saw a car on its roof.
The New Zealand Transport Agency posted on its website that motorists should expect significant delays following the crash. They later posted the crash was now clear and congestion had eased.
