Omokoroa residents are being asked to minimise the amount of water they use overnight on Tuesday, July 11 to allow for crucial work to the Peninsula's wastewater system.
Western Bay of Plenty District Council contractors would be replacing a 180 metre section of rising sewer main on Omokoroa Road just south of the entrance to Omokoroa Community Hall.
Council Utilities manager, Kelvin Hill said a new section of pipeline had been installed to a different alignment and depth to allow for the entrance into the Kaimai Views Housing Area.
He said contractors must shutdown the Peninsula's wastewater system in order to complete the works overnight between 9pm Tuesday, July 11 and 6am Wednesday, July 12.
"Our team will first shutdown the wastewater system by emptying out all the storage pump stations and pipes in the network. This will allow for enough storage overnight while the works are completed.
