A New Zealand Air Force Hercules that arrived in Darwin today will transport Bali bombing casualties for as long as required, Foreign Affairs Minister Phil Goff says.
The aircraft and a seven-strong medical team will today join the Australian Defence Force's medical evacuation operation.
The New Zealanders will fly victims evacuated from
Bali to hospital within Australia, with burns case given priority.
A medical team with the Hercules comprises four defence personnel and three civilians who had previously worked with the Defence Force.
The Hercules would be available to work extended hours, Mr Goff said.
"It will be there probably until the end of the week, but will depend on need -- we'll be there as long as we're needed," he said.
