The movie No 2 has received the most nominations - 12 - in the Air New Zealand Screen Awards.
The winners will be announced on August 24.
No 2 is nominated for best film with Sione's Wedding, The World's Fastest Indian, and River Queen.
No 2's Toa Fraser is nominated
for best director with Roger Donaldson for The World's Fastest Indian and Chris Graham for Sione's Wedding.
Other nominations for No 2, the Mt Roskill-based story of a family ensuring the success of a new generation, include cinematography, editing, screenplay (Fraser), and best actress (Ruby Dee).
Sione's Wedding and The World's Fastest Indian, which stars Sir Anthony Hopkins, each get 10 nominations.
Shimpal Lelisi (Sione's Wedding) and Cliff Curtis (River Queen) compete with Hopkins for best actor, while Teuila Blakely (Sione's Wedding) and Dee take on British star Samantha Morton (River Queen) for best actress.
