Helicopter crews used night-vision goggles to rescue a man who had a car crash in Waihi.
The Trustpower Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Waihi at 11pm yesterday, meeting a St John ambulance that was transporting a 56-year-old man.
The man had multiple injuries after the crash, and was flown to
Waikato Hospital.
The flight was carried out using night-vision goggles, with the helicopter required due to the distance to the hospital and the man's injuries.
