One person has been arrested after reports of gunshot in Ōtaki on the Kāpiti Coast.

Police were called at about 12.40pm today following reports of a firearm being discharged in Marine Parade.

Police have arrested one person in relation to the incident and are searching for two witnesses.

Cordons are in place at the scene, and inquiries are continuing.
