Man in hospital with head injury after accidental hammer incident

A man in his 20s was rushed to hospital on Friday after accidentally hitting himself in the head with a hammer.

The Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter was sent to Kawau Island at 11.37am after the man suffered a head injury.

He was flown to Auckland City Hospital in a moderate condition.
