Police have taken a man into custody after a man was shot nearby in Pukekohe, south of Auckland.
The shooting occurred at a house in Hogan St just after 12.30pm.
Police have taken a man into custody in relation to the incident and say he is assisting with inquiries.
The
incident also prompted a school nearby to go into lockdown.
The victim, a male in his 50's, has been rushed to hospital with a gunshot to his leg.
